“Honk honk!”
A car horn blared as Cucumber Cat jerked awake. Cucumber glanced at his alarm clock. 8:30, Oh no! I’m late!! Cucumber sprung out of his catbed and sprinted out as fast as he could. Tomato Cat, his brother, was waiting in the car. Cucumber pressed the code in. 2-9-5-2. Cucumber cat thought.
“Hi!” Tomato said as Cucumber sat down in the hovercarcat. “Mmph,” Cucumber grunted back. The hovercarcat started moving.
“Hey I think they’re building a new building!” Tomato said as they passed a construction site. “I wonder what building it’s gonna be,”
They were heading to Quwerty, which was a computer manufacturing company that they both worked at. Tomato always picked up Cucumber in the morning.
“We’re late,” Cucumber realized. “Noodle Cat will yell at us. We were supposed to type up ideas for better computers today”. Tomato sped up the hovercarcat. Cucumber could see the big Q-w-e-r-t-y sign glow neon green. The hovercarcats miles per hour dropped to zero. The two cats pounced out of the hovercarcat. They sprinted up to the huge door. Tomato and Cucumber placed their paws on the scanners.
“Accepted,” a robotic voice announced. The door swung open and the brothers ran inside. Noodle was waiting there.
“Stop,” Noodle said.
Tomato winced.
“Umm,” Cucumber began.
Noodle signaled that he was on the phone.
“Whew!” Tomato exhaled.
They both padded up the spiral staircase to get to the 3rd floor. The rest of their work day was normal, until…
Tomato and Cucumber pounced back into the hovercarcat. They were exhausted. Tomato typed in Cucumber’s address first. As they were driving back, Cucumber noticed something. “Hey! That building was under construction!” Cucumber announced, as he pointed at the building they passed when going to work. The hovercarcat jerked to a stop. The building sign read, “The Bater Wottle Factory.”
